How to make your petite dresses look fabulous
A petite dress that has a bit of extra cut can make for a chic evening outfit.
For a bit more practicality, here are six tips for creating a petite petite evening dress that fits well.1.
Don’t be afraid to add some embellishment.
Try something a bit different to the classic ‘tangle of yarns’ look.
A soft, plush fabric that blends in with the dress’s silhouette could be a great addition.
Or maybe you can opt for a bold colour that you can wear over a floral dress, such as a green flower print.
Alternatively, you could opt for something more bold like a bold red, such a rose or gold.
Create a shape.
You can try adding a bow, or even a chain, to create a more unique design.
If you prefer to make the dress more casual, opt for an edgy, loose-fitting dress.
Find your pet’s favourite colour.
Once you’ve chosen your fabric, you’ll need to find the colour that works best with the pattern.
Using a fabric marker or a marker pen, draw a circle around the dress.
This will create a circle of fabric that you will need to sew onto the dress and add your favourite colour to it.
Make sure you’re sewing around the collar, and don’t try to sew everything at once, as that could make the garment look a bit frumpy.
Cut the fabric.
Your pet loves a dress that’s a bit loose, so you might as well cut the fabric that goes along the centre of the dress to create some space.
This is a good way to make a little bit of room at the back.
Choose a fabric pattern.
For this tutorial, I decided to create my petite day dress from my favourite floral pattern, the ‘pink flower’ pattern.
I started with the base of the flower, which is a bright pink, and worked up until I had the centre, which was a deep purple.
I then started adding a small piece of lace at the front of the design, which gives the dress a little more character.
To add a bit extra personality to your pet dress, you can choose to add a headband, collar, or a necklace, or maybe even a necklace or earrings.
Depending on your preference, these can make the evening dress feel more like a formal dinner dress.
